Comedienne and actress Gilda Radner died in 1989 of ovarian cancer. Gilda gained fame in the 1970s as an original cast member on Saturday Night Live. At the time of her death, she was married to actor Gene Wilder. The mission of Gilda’s Club is to provide meeting places where men, women and children living with cancer, and their families and friends, can join with others to build emotional and social support as a supplement to medical care.
